Tionda Bradley: Missing Chicago Girl Found on Web?

Tionda Bradley and her sister Diamond disappeared ten years ago. They disappeared from Chicago's south side and hadn't been seen since.

Now, a photo on a social networking site looks a lot like what Tionda would look like today. This is not wishful thinking: Forensics routinely age-advances photos these days.

" I took a hard look at them [the photos] for the first time [this week], and I do not say this lightly, but it's her," said Lois Gibson, a forensic artist with the Houston Police Department.' " ("Net photo is missing girl: expert" Chicago Sun-Times (May 2, 2008))

The Chicago Sun-Times article doesn't go into detail about the forensic artist's decision-making process. In an interview on Fox News channel, Lois Gibson said what she saw when examining a photograph of Tionda Bradley saw that arrangements of bones and muscles of the face were the same in both photos, taking ten years' growth into account. And, the folds of the ears match. Ear structure, the forensic expert said, is the most complex part of the face.

"Chicago Police have 'no substantive leads, but detectives are aware of this enhanced image,' said department spokeswoman Monique Bond." (Chicago Sun-Times (May 2, 2008))

Which is a step or two up from 'everyone knows it was an accident,' which seems to be the default response to several dozen, ah, accidental drownings between Minnesota and Indiana.

Tionda and Diamond Bradley's family has a website, The Official Site of Tionda And DIamond Bradley.

"REWARD CURRENTLY AT $30.000.00 FOR INFORMATION
LEADING DIRECTLY TO THE WHEREABOUTS OF DIAMOND AND
TIONDA TORRES BRADLEY. PLEASE MAKE THE CALL!
"

I hope the Bradleys get their daughters back.
