"Under Skin Electronic Tattoo"
Onlineweblibrary blog (May 1, 2008)
"The art of tattoo returns to the year 2000B.C, have been always used as a form of self representation; a visual language ... At the recent one-day-conference of Greener Gadgets Design Competition ... members of startups focused on renewable energy, and some of the leading minds in the word of sustainable design and business. An engineer demonstrated a subcutaneously implanted touch-screen that operates as a cell phone display, with the potential for 3G video calls that are visible just underneath the skin."
If this doesn't sound weird yet, it gets better. The device is powered by your blood. The exact process isn't defined.
I love the second-to-last paragraph:
"Some concerns have grown about if the digital tattoo could be harmful with unhealthy effects. But again it has proven otherwise of health benefits for it also continually monitors for many blood disorders, alerting the person of a health problem."
I think this technology is cool, and innovative, and for once I'll be glad to let someone else try the thing first.

Today's News! Some of it, anyway
Actually, some of yesterday's news may be here. Or maybe last week's.
The software and science stuff might still be interesting, though. Or not.
The Lemming thinks it's interesting: Your experience may vary.
