Pabst Blue Ribbon Beer Inspires Coffin Design

"Illinois man designs beer can coffin"
USA Today (May 5, 2008)

"SOUTH CHICAGO HEIGHTS, Ill. (AP) — Bill Bramanti's favorite beer is Pabst Blue Ribbon. He loves it.

"Really loves it.

"So much so that he's already had his coffin specially made, and it's designed to look like a can of the trendy brew. Bramanti isn't sick, so he doesn't plan on needing it just yet. For now he plans to use it as a cooler."

Using your own coffin.

That looks like a titanic can of Pabst Blue Ribbon beer.

As a cooler. Beer cooler, I presume.

I'd give it a weird rating of about 7.5 on a scale of 1 to 10. But then, I lived in San Francisco for over a year, and decades of my life on or near college campuses. My "weird" threshold is set rather high.

My hat's off to Mr. Bramanti: that's a remarkable example of personalization in what so often is a rather fixed-format part of our lives.
