"Police across Texas on the lookout for drunken drivers over Labor Day weekend"
The Dallas Morning News (September 3, 2010)
"Law enforcement authorities across North Texas and the state will be out in force this Labor Day weekend looking for drunken drivers.
"The Dallas Police Department is conducting a 'no refusal' initiative beginning at 6 p.m. tonight and ending at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, September 7.
"During that period, drunken driving suspects will first be asked to take a breath or provide a blood sample. Should they refuse, DPD will obtain a search warrant to get a blood sample and forward it to the Dallas County district attorney's office...."
Dallas isn't alone: I heard that Minnesota's law enforcement is being extra-vigilant this weekend. It's probably the same story across the United States.
The Lemming figures that a sozzled motorist or two will insist that his/her rights are being violated. I just hope that traffic won't be tied up while those search warrants are being processed.

Today's News! Some of it, anyway
Actually, some of yesterday's news may be here. Or maybe last week's.
The software and science stuff might still be interesting, though. Or not.
The Lemming thinks it's interesting: Your experience may vary.
