"A View of the World from 9th Avenue (Map)"

"Famous Saul Steinberg New Yorker Magazine cover from 1976 depicts a New Yorker's egocentric view of world geography. Looking west from 9th Ave."
That was the March 29, 1976 New Yorker cover. There's a 1252 × 1691 pixel version of the image on mappery.com. And yes, it's available as a poster.
The Lemming could get very serious at this point about ethnocentrism and other five-dollar words: but even after seeing that cover off and on for decades - I still think it's funny.

Today's News! Some of it, anyway
Actually, some of yesterday's news may be here. Or maybe last week's.
This software and science stuff might still be interesting, though. Or, not.
The Lemming thinks it's interesting: Your experience may vary.

The Lemming Log
Sorry about this: I'd hoped we'd have an opportunity for leaving comments on this blog as a whole, as well as comments on individual posts.
What happened was that a lot of spam got left here, with no practical way of effectively dealing with it.
So, the whole haloscan.com service goes. Too bad.
