They've got the same thing for 1990 census data, and a line to their "American FactFinder." If the Lemming ever wants to look through a few megabytes of text, that looks like a pretty good place to go.
Provided, of course, that the idea is to find statistics about some place in the United States.
If the Lemming wanted to find out what sort of paint Rembrandt used, or what the effect of imperial Rome's corn laws was - not so much.
