Teqila Diamonds?

"...Scientists in Mexico have found a way to create diamonds from nothing else but the alcoholic drink, tequila using a technique that employs the Mexican spirit to produce a diamond film which is employed to protect the surface of equipment operating in harsh conditions...."

The process, as described, is plausible enough.

I don't know whether to believe this or not, but it does make a good story.
