Armistice Day / Veterans Day

It's Armistice Day today, or "Veterans Day," as we've taken to calling it. Although things haven't gone quite as people expected in 1918, the eleventh day of November is still a good time to stop and think. On the Web: I'll repeat the quote I use in that last item:

"Human nature will not change. In any future great national trial, compared to the men of this, we shall have as weak and as strong, as silly and as wise, as bad and as good."
Abraham Lincoln, Response to a serenade, November 10, 1864.
