Remember Helen Keller? 1888 Photo of Her Found

"1888 Photo Depicts Helen Keller, Teacher" Associated Press (March 5, 2008)

It's just an old photo, in pretty good condition, taken in the summer of 1888. The eight-year-old girl holding a doll is Helen Keller, the adult is her teacher, Anne Sullivan. This may be the earliest photo of the two, together.

Finding the photo is a big deal, because of who the people are: Helen Keller, whose life demonstrated that being blind and deaf did not mean being useless, and the woman who taught her how to communicate.
