Don't Know What the Uvula Does? You're Not Alone

The uvula is that wiggly thing at the back of your mouth. There's speculation about what the uvula's function is, besides producing saliva, but medicos haven't settled on one theory yet.

I found this NCBI page after my son asked me what the uvula was for.
