Procedure for Removing Nail from Head: Requires - a Sterilized Screwdriver and a Claw Hammer?!

I thought of joking about this article, but getting your hat nailed to your head with a nail gun isn't funny.

George Chandler's friend was untangling the nail gun's hose from a child's toy when it went off. So, instead of finishing putting a lattice up on Mr. Chandler's deck, they called 911 and got Chandler up close and personal with the emergency room staff and today's medical imaging technology.

Also a screwdriver and a claw hammer.

There's a pretty good writeup at KansasCity.com:

"Nail shot into Shawnee man’s head felt like just 'a little sting' "
(KansasCity.com (June 10, 2008)).

"...'I’m fine, really,' Chandler said. 'I was very surprised and very lucky. A lot of prayers were said for me.'..."

"...He was scheduled for surgery when his doctor entered his room early and announced he was going to remove the nail using a sterilized screwdriver and claw hammer from the maintenance department...."
