"Earthquake jolts Big Island"
Hawaii247.org (April 21, 2009)
"A 4.2 magnitude earthquake jolted the Big Island Tuesday at 4:58 p.m. The epicenter was in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park...." (2009 April 22 02:58:09 UTC)
That's a significant quake. This notification was all I could find about it at the moment.
Thanks to bnsullivan on Twitter, for providing the URL - and the heads-up.
UPDATE (April 22, 2009)
bnsullivan left a comment, which updates this post:
"FYI, I have not heard of any damage caused by yesterday's quake, but it was unsettling as it came just a week after a 5.0 magnitude quake in nearly the same spot. That is making everyone edgy.
We are accustomed to the ones that amount to no more than a little jiggle, but larger ones are another story. (We had a 6.8 a couple of years ago that did substantial damage.)
Here is a web page run by the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory that monitors Recent Earthquakes in Hawaii."
Thanks, Bobbi
