"43 Amazing Resources For Writers"
Cath Lawson (May 8, 2008)
You'll find that these lists of resources overlap a bit, but that's okay: Just skip over the ones you're familiar with.
I took a look at a few of the resources:
"Creative Writing Prompts: Never be stuck for words again - over 300 writing prompts to stimulate your imagination." Might be useful - it certainly is interactive. On the down side, you have to keep the cursor over a particular number, or the little box with the prompt collapses.
"10 Universities Offering Free Writing Courses Online: Here’s your chance to take a short writing course, from your own home - completely free of charge." This looks promising. MIT leads the list.
"100 Best First Lines: Can’t get started? Use one of these best lines from published novels and carry on writing." Okay: This is impressive. Unlike many 'writing starters,' these lines were actually used. Successfully. "Call Me Ishmael" leads the list.
Overall, I'd say this is a pretty good resource list.
