Memorial Day Weekend, 2008: Parades

Memorial Day is coming up, and so are Memorial Day Parades. I did a quick look around and found:
  • "National Memorial Day Parade"
    Washington DC
    May 26, 2008
"The National Memorial Day Parade, presented by the American Veterans Center, is held annually in Washington DC, and is an opportunity for thousands of patriotic Americans to come together and honor those who have sacrificed so much in service to our country."
  • "Memorial Day Parade -- Downtown Chicago"
    Chicago
    May 24, 2008
"With 10,000 participants annually, the procession is billed one of the largest in the country. Festivities begin with a wreath laying ceremony at Daley Plaza (11 a.m.), followed by the parade at noon. The parade proceeds south on State Street from Wacker Drive to Van Buren Street."
  • "Biggest Memorial Day Parade in the U.S."
    Queens, New York
    May 26, 2008
"Memorial Day is more than a three-day weekend. It honors those soldiers, sailors, and others in the armed forces who have fallen while serving our nation.
"This Memorial Day you can join the annual celebration in Little Neck and Douglaston, Queens, which has grown into the largest Memorial Day Parade in the country since its start in 1927. The whole community turns out, and it's a great way to start the summer."
  • "NYC Parades"
Brought to the Web by Jim's Deli
  • "Greater Los Angeles Annual Events"
    Los Angeles Area
(It's listed between the NoHo Theatre & Arts Festival and the Topanga Banjo Fiddle Contest and Arts Festival.)
