Botched 911 Call in Nashville

"911 Operator: 'I Don't Give a S***t'"
NewsChannel5.com (May 12, 2008)

The good news is that, after three hours of negotiating with a 911 system that didn't "give a S***t," Sheila Jones was still alive. Then, she called the mayor's office. After that, finally, the police came.

Actually, it wasn't the entire 911 system that didn't care whether Sheila lived or not. Police and 911 officials, sorting out the SNAFU, say it was one error piled on another.

What's really disturbing is what one operator said after Sheila Jones hung up: "I really just don't give a s**t what happens to you."

Inspirational words.

About that outstanding 911 operator, Metro Police Chief said: "The employee is no longer with us."

Smart move.
