Get Rich by Freelancing: It's Worth Reading, Anyway

"10 Ways to Make a 6-Figure Income as a Freelance Writer"
Robert W. Bly

This 10-point lists stands out, not so much because of its advice, but because it's one of the very few places that Napoleon Hill is mentioned. Napoleon Hill is the unlikely name of the man who wrote "Think and Grow Rich." Mr. Bly cites the 1960 edition (Fawcet Crest), but Napoleon Hill's original book was published in 1937.

I've read the older versions of the book: and they are, consciously or not, the source of nearly every how-to-succeed book written since.

As to Mr. Bly's assertions of making lots of money freelancing, he could be right. In any event, the advice is useful as a guide. And some is spot-on: "Profitable writers are productive writers. We write consistently, every day, whether the mood strikes us or not. “The professional writer must establish a daily schedule and stick to it,” writes William Zinsser in On Writing Well (HarperResource, 2001)."
