As crazy as it sounds, (((volume))) is an idea whose time may have come: "The argentine artist Sergio Avello has created in Buenos Aires, Argentina, a giant urban vumeter called “VOLUME”: an aesthetic indicator of the ambient sound, in real time."
Who knows? Individuals may see noise levels in their area, and connect their own actions with the aggregate's acoustic ambiance: and decide to be a little more quiet.
